What is an enamel water tank? What are the performance advantages of enamel water tanks?

The application of enamel water tanks in the production of water heaters in China is increasing day by day.

The application of enamel water tanks in the production of water heaters in China is increasing day by day. Enamel inner tanks are replacing other inner tanks and becoming the main product of water heater inner tanks because of their superior anti-corrosion performance. Enamel water tanks originated in the United States 50 years ago, and their production in Europe, especially Germany, began in the 1960s. The capacity of a water heater can be as large as 4000 liters and as small as 15 liters, roughly divided into two types: American and European, with the main difference being the design of the inner tank.
The quality of steel plates must be selected based on the coating process, forming, and requirements of enamel products. Steel plates are important materials for enamel inner liners. The carbon content of the selected enamel water tank board is ≤ 0.08%, and the expansion coefficient is 32 × 10-7. Steel contains an appropriate amount of manganese element, which reduces its elongation performance and increases its strength limit and yield limit. Therefore, the higher the manganese content, the greater the required deformation force.
Silicon and manganese are both residues of deoxidizers during smelting for carbon steel. Generally, steel plates can be deep drawn as long as the silicon content is less than 0.37%. But beyond this value, the steel will also become hard and brittle even with low carbon content, affecting its sealing performance and not suitable for deep drawing processing. The presence of sulfides can greatly promote the formation of striped structures, affecting the microstructure of steel plates, thereby reducing the toughness and plasticity of finished steel products. Bubbles and fine pores will appear in the ceramic layer, which will reduce the deep drawing performance of the finished product. Phosphorus dissolved in ferrite can increase its strength and hardness, but significantly reduce the plasticity of the finished steel. The lower the phosphorus content of the steel plate used for deep drawing, the better (<0.06%). The titanium added to the steel can combine with various components in the enamel, increasing its density, which is very beneficial for enamel water tanks.
Enamel water tank hemispherical pressure bearing head: Designed to achieve the ultimate hemispherical shape, the pressure bearing inner tank head is made of 2mm thick special enamel steel plate, which achieves good pressure bearing capacity and fatigue resistance. Ensure that the enamel water tank undergoes minimal deformation after long-term use, thereby extending its service life. The number of compressions can reach 300000 times, and if tested with 1.5 times the rated pressure.
The structural characteristics of the enamel water tank inner liner: To solve the quality hazard of the coating pool caused by the inability to polish the welding joint before coating, the inner liner adopts a double flange structure; To avoid the occurrence of bubbles during the coating process using conventional lap welding methods, the butt welding method between the head and the barrel body is adopted; To solve the hidden danger of damage to the enamel inner liner caused by long-term suspension of the water tank, a special water tank fixing belt is used; To solve the problems of low heating efficiency, resource waste, and safety hazards caused by the adhesion of scale in ordinary electric heating, enamel electric heating can be used; The bending welding method of the medium water nozzle solves the problem of poor medium flow in traditional right angle welding.
